Q&A

2. Who were your childhood heroes?

without a doubt Captain Planet!!

It was a environmental show I watched with my sister growing up. I remember being in Barretts car and his friend had taken all the balls from the ball pit at Burger King. They were throwing them in peoples yards and filling up mail boxes and Alison kept yelling "What would Captain Plant say?!?!?!!?"

Maybe this is the reason I use cloth towels and cloth napkins in my house.....

Na na boo boo

I have been waiting on my computer to upload pictures from my personal pictures. Blogger will not upload them. I have come to realize it may never happen and I keep putting of Daniels birthday post off in hopes I could have a picture of the sweet kid. Oh well.

So way back in September Daniel turned 2. He was very excited about every present that he opened. He ohhhed and awhhhed at the perfect moments and I believe his favorite toy that day was the spiderman umbrella he got from Grandmom. She bought the exact one Joseph owned and that was perfect because they couldn't really fight over them. When one of the spiderman umbrellas broke  a week later Joseph made it clear that the broken one belonged to Daniel. So Daniel and I to Joseph's surprised went and bought a new umbrella. He uses it every time it rains or barely rains. He is so adorable and half grown up when he uses it in parking lots on the way to the grocery store.

Some things about Daniel

He wakes me up at 6. every. morning.
loves chocolate milk, chocolate cookies, chocolate candy....the boy loves chocolate
enjoys being outside
riding bikes
swinging
being around other children
loveeeees babies. I have never seen another human love babies like this boy.
sleeps in his big boy bed through the night..most nights
wants to do everything Joseph does
still takes a great nap for me daily

He has just learned to put his tongue right behind his teeth and can make the slurping sound by swishing his tongue. This is huge because it is right where his tongue needs to be to make the "D" sound. He just has to learn to move his tongue a different way for that sound. He tries to talk and talk and talk. I have a hard time following him still on some words but for the most part he has jumped in his communication towards me. He may not do the right sounds but he is trying his hardest. His new favorite saying that melts my heart and makes it hard to keep a straight face is Na na boo boo.
I love that boy and am glad he has been with me for 2 years. Here is to 200 more!

Q&A

I am a sucker for those books with a tons of questions in them. I have bought them several times for grandparents or a parent or two. In hopes they would actually answer them and I would have a better insight into their lives. Well I saw one the other day and bought it. I had plans on giving it away and decided I could answer them myself for my children. One day they might be interested.
300 questions to ask your parents....before it's too late..

So here we go folks.  There are several different sections and I will go section by section. The first is:
What I Learned From My Youth....

1.What is something from your childhood (an event) that has affected you the most?

Okay, I have been sitting here for like 15 minutes. This is my first question and I cannot even think of a answer. I am not sure if I can think of a event that has affected me the most. But maybe I can tell you about several small events that I hold dear to me. When I think back to being a child I think about getting off the school bus and walking to my house to eat some ice cream that I really wasn't supposed to be eating. Then going outside and feeling the warmth of the sun  on me and the wonderful smells of being outside. I then arrived at my cousins to see who wanted to play with me and just playing outside until our parents called us home. Maybe we would ride bikes or play in the small stream we found in the woods behind our houses, or maybe we were seeing who we could get to ask Moo Moo for a cookie. I suppose I love the freedom I was allowed to have as a child. A simple freedom my own children may not enjoy as much as I did because the world is not as care free as it once was.

If you want to join me....then answer the questions as I post them. :) then your children will not have to buy you a book to learn more about you one day!

pusher truck

Joseph has been telling me for weeks now that he wants to be a pusher truck for Halloween. I just really learned that its a bulldozer he wants to be. I am still learning the names to all the trucks. I have tried to convince him to be a superhero but all he says is he wants to be a pusher truck. Then he shows me his toy and says "this is what I want to be mom!" I had two diaper boxes and decided I could make one out of those. I went to Home Depot to buy spray paint and stuff. I was standing in front of all the spray paint trying to pick the color I wanted and this tall lanky old man came walking our way. He had a smile on his face as he passed me by he looked inside my cart to see yellow and black duct tape. He asked me what my project was. I told him I was making a Halloween costume. His smile got even bigger. Then he asked me just what the costume was going to be. When I told him a construction truck he started laughing and shaking his head. I heard him say as he walked away.

Mommas! They can do anything!
It made my day.

I plan on putting him in a flannel shirt with a hard hat. He is beyond excited about it.
