stand by your man....not always though

Jason swears this all went down a different way. But I know the truth. I am here to give you the real story.
Home Depot was having this annual safety day in our town. I wanted to bring the boys because I knew they could make and paint their own firetruck toys. We get there and we are doing the all the fun stuff. We started with the  train ride and jumping in bouncy houses. Then we walked over to see a real fire truck. We had just walked over to the firetruck and the fireman told us they were going to land a helicopter in a few minutes and we should cover the boys eyes because the helicopter would pick up all the dirt on the pavement. You should know this entire event was taking place in the parking lot of Home Depot.
Right after the fireman tells this to us the huge helicopter comes hovering above us. That my friends is when the crazy kicked into Jason.

We stood there watching the helicopter, you could see the area marked off close by the firetruck where they planed to land it. I knew we would be the closest people to the landing and told Jason we might want to back up a bit because of the sand getting into our eyes. He wanted to stay and see it land up close. So I stood there with him and watched it go in a small circle. Then Jason starts walking towards it with Joseph on his shoulders. I look to my right and people are running to see the landing of the helicopter.

I couldn't believe people really thought it necessary to run. I started to walk away from the firetruck back towards the store and bouncy house.  Then I thought maybe I should stand with Jason, I turned around and walked over trying to find him amongst the crowd of people and then I spot him. Standing in the middle of the marked off spot where they planned to land the helicopter. I couldn't believe he was in the area for the landing. Then after the helicopter waited for Jason to move out of his spot, they realized the man wasn't moving. They land off in a field and then tell some people to move the plastic streamers marking off the area and move the idiot standing in the middle so they could land.

Jason swears tons of other people were standing in the middle with him and he also swears the only reason they landed in the field was to move the streamers out of the way....not him.
It was hilarious telling him my story and hearing him tell a completely different story.

Family time

We went to my cousin's wedding last weekend and I fell in love with these pictures my brother-in-law took.

I am feeling this little guy kick like crazy. I am having a hard time with giving him a name. Jason and I have been trying and trying to agree on something. I told him I just might leave it up to my readers on Pink Nothings to name this kid.
No other real updates at the time.

Easter Pictures....times 100

Sweet boy of mine.
Getting ready to go to church.
Here he is outside our house saying 'cheese' which never really gives us the smile we want. However it is still a cute face.
Ma mom and Joseph. (As he calls me these days.)

Da Da and Joseph.
yummy food to eat.
Joseph was having so much fun looking for eggs. When all the other children had given up on the hunt he continued. He was having a hard time with the basket so Jason's dad helped him out the entire time. Bless his heart, it was a long time. :)
I did get some cute pictures of the two of them together which was pretty nice. His basket turned out to be too small. We had to empty it 3 times into a larger basket.

Hope your Easter was just perfect like mine.

Pumpkins

We had so much fun this weekend. Our little family went to the pumpkin patch with some of Jason's sisters and dad. We left a bit late in the day and Joseph had not taken his nap yet. He fell asleep on the way there and didn't wake up so we put him in his stroller and covered him from the wind because it was cold that day. (top middle picture) Thank goodness he woke up because he had so much fun once he did. We picked out a pumpkin for each of us and will be cutting them tomorrow for Family Home Evening. I feel and urge to blog more on our family blog so here is to hoping you will see more updates on our family.

Why is he crying like this?

Well because he just looked this in the face. We went with some family to the Yellow River Game Ranch this past Saturday. Joseph loved it. He wanted to touch every animal that he saw.
Here he and daddy are feeding the bears. Maybe I should be more clear, dad was feeding the bears while Joseph tried to feed himself the whole time.
Jason's dad came with us. I think we wore him out.
Proof for how close these animals will get to you. Pretty neat.

Home sweet home.

Joseph's first road trip went very well. He would sleep and pretty much wake up to eat or be changed. I did feel really bad every time I put him back into the car seat. He just didn't like it at all. I got really good at changing his diaper while he was in my lap.
Jason and I enjoyed our time in GA. We got to see so many family members and friends while we were there. We are sorry if we didn't get to spend a lot of time with some of you we really did try our best to make the rounds. We came home yesterday. Which was earlier than we had planed but we really needed some time alone before Jason went back to work. We have only been alone with Joesph for one week, so these next few days will be some fun family days together.

My parents were in NC for a small trip and decided to drive up to VA to see Jason and me for the 4th of July weekend. We had a lot of fun and walked a ton!! I am still sore. Starting with the top row of pictures........we got to go to the Washington D.C. temple. It's one of my Church's temples where you get married. This is the temple my parents were sealed in 30 years ago. They had not been back since then and really enjoyed getting to see it again.

The second row of pictures.......we went to a few sites at night which turned out to be really nice because it wasn't too hot and there weren't so many people out. The only problem we did run into was a certain pregnant lady who had to use the bathroom all the time and it was hard to find restrooms at night. :) We didn't get to really see any fireworks on the 4th and that is my favorite part about the 4th. It was rainy and we were all sooo tired. We did catch a few the next night which made up for missing them.

The last row of pictures......We went to Mt. Vernon where George Washington lived. I learned a lot about him and now I want to learn even more. He was such a amazing man. I recommend you checking this place out if you ever make it to VA, just know you will stand in line for almost 2 hours to get inside his home, but it's worth the wait.

My parents left yesterday and my mom will be flying out this Saturday with her ticket she bought a while back. I am sure she is sick of my tiny apartment or will be by the end of her next visit!! I go to the Dr. tomorrow so I will give you all a update then. I believe I am slowly losing my plug. If any of you wanted to know that! If not sorry to gross you out.

Three lovely years.

Today is our 3 year anniversary!! We have been together for almost 5 years and married for 3. Funny how I thought it was taking forever for us to get married and once we did time has gone by fast. I am soo grateful to have married Jason. I have never met a more patient man than him. He has stood by me and made me feel like a queen. I know we were made to love one another and have a family together. The Lord has been so kind to me and I will always be in debt to him.

Easter

Jesus asked Mary not to touch Him because He had not yet ascended to His Father in Heaven. He told her to go to the Apostles and tell them that she had seen Him. Jesus said, "Say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God" (John 20:17).
Mary hurried to tell the Apostles that she had seen the Lord and that He had spoken to her (see John 20:18).

Me in all my glory on Easter Sunday. I was starting to get sick and today I am much worse. No fun, but it's my turn since my husband was sick this past week.

I made my first Easter dinner ever!! I was really sad that I was not going to be with family at all during Easter and made sure that I had a huge Easter dinner to come home to after church. Well worth all the work I put into it.

R.I.P

No, there is not any snow here. This is just the only picture I could find of my old blue car. Saturday Jason and I had to get the emissions done on both cars and that's when we learned that my car had finally ran her course. The radiator broke and there are a few other problems not to mention the windshield that needs to be replaced. We were planing on getting another car before the baby got here, so we don't really see the need to fork out all the money to fix this.
Now I can start looking for another car!!

P.S. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

D.C

Spencer and Stacy came into town to visit this past weekend and we spent Saturday walking around D.C and checking out some of the buildings. Jason and I are really excited to go back and take some tours and spend more time learning about the area. It was great being with family even thought it was only for a day. I really miss hanging out with them. I really have missed Spencer and Stacy since we used to live so close and were in the same ward at church.

My favorite thing we saw this weekend was the National Geographic Museum.

They had a exhibit all about frogs from all over the world. Below are my favorite frogs because they are so tiny and have such bright fun colors, however they are really poisonous. Now I know to never pick one up.

Just some pictures of some of the places we looked at.

Valentines

Valentines Day is not celebrated in our home by going over board with gifts. Instead we try to have fun together on this day and just show a little extra love.

We have a ice skating rink just minutes from our house, we have been talking about going there since we moved here. Last night we decided that would be a fun date for us to go on together. I have not been ice skating since I was 16 years old and it was only in old town Conyers, which was not very large. I wasn't nervous at all until I got on the ice. However I did not fall!!! I did bring my camera and I even put new batteries in it. When Jason took it out to take some pictures of me it wouldn't work. So I ask all of you to just picture this beautiful graceful lady skating and me almost running into her because I didn't know how to stop! We had a blast!
After dinner Jason told me I could pick any chick flick I wanted to and he would watch it with me so I choose The Nanny Diaries. Really cute. Not that my husband really liked it, he kept sneaking out during the movie. I hope everyone had a great day yesterday!!!

For Rachel.

Yesterday Jason and I went to the mall. I was looking for some new dress boots and he was looking to get out as soon as we could. As i was going from store to store I discovered that boots are like $80 to $90. I didn't want to spend that much at all. Finally after going to every shoe store I only had one left, Rackroom shoes. I went in thinking there is no way I am going to be able to buy any that day. When to my surprise and great enjoyment I found a nice pair for $21.00 I was so happy. It also let me spend a little more money to buy some winter clothes for when we move to the very cold VA.

Now, I was talking to my sister Rachel last night and we were both talking about how we wanted to dress more adult like for Sundays. (I want to just so people know maybe I am not in the youth) Anyways I told her how I had bought a new dress and she got all excited because she had too. So we promised to do the most girly thing ever and post a picture of out new outfits for each other to see. So to all my dear blog readers I hope you enjoy this as much as she will!!!

BBQ Festival

Jason and I found some more fun things to do today for our family day. We went to this BBQ Festival about 30 minutes from our home. In order to celebrate the BBQ they had all these pigs everywhere to decorate, things like pig hats and pig ballons. Pretty weird if you ask me, lets eat pigs and put cute smiling pigs up all around us at the same time.
This is all made out of sand. It was my favorite part at the festival. They had all kinds of booths set up for you to watch things or buy things.
Crazy!!!! As you can see they have not finished the sand sculpture.
I didn't like the way the BBQ smelled so I asked for a hot dog instead and I got this...a PINK dog!
My way cute hubby!!!!!

These kids are spinning plates. It was really cute to watch how amazed they were.
Also you will never believe who sang......Trisha Yearwood!!!!!!!!! I love her music. These are the best pictures I could get of her I was kinda far back.
Overall Jason and I had soooo much fun, we were so tired when we got home. It was a great way to spend a Saturday.
